November’s been a mixed bag. Festivities, work and kiddies commitments meant the blog routine was thrown off the rails! However the capsule wardrobe challenge’s turning out to be a great success so far:) I’m glad Jo (iCurvy) invited me to this challenge for the second year in a row, see how well she’s going here. This year my spring capsule wardrobe is proving to be delightfully versatile. It is indeed a well refined set for putting together smart casual outfits. Here’s presenting the first 10 smart casual outfits and a little something about each:
DAY 1:Pop of pattern and colour- You can never go wrong with quality neutral pieces and I’m glad I chose the ‘building blocks’ well, which means there is plenty of opportunity to splash around with colour and pattern using accessories.
Grey tee – Grab denim via Myer | Jeggings – Uniqlo | Scarf- David Jones for Juniors (believe it or not!) | Sandals – Florsheim (last season)
DAY 2: Black, khaki and structured accessories- What I love about a smart casual capsule wardrobe is the ease of dressing a look up or down! For an office day with meetings, all it took was a structured bag and black pumps to ‘seal the deal’
Broderie detail top- Jeanswest | Khaki jeggings- Uniqlo | Pumps – Hush Puppies | Bag- Hidesign (India) | Necklace- Oroton | Bracelet – David Jones jewellery
DAY3: Spring colours and flowing shape- For an instant lady like charm, it was this chartreuse midi skirt and blush peep toe pumps with a bit of fancy accessorizing! Melbourne Cup at work didn’t require much effort, honestly. And this has been the most popular #ootd on Facebook
Layered print tank – Jeanswest | Chartreuse midi skirt – JacquiE | Blush peep toes- Bonbons | Necklace- Country Road
DAY 4: Navy and black with stripes- The striped blazer is a highly recommended piece for a smart casual capsule wardrobe, it has magical abilities to lift an outfit. Like this one above, for that perfect first impression when seeing a client! No wonder it was the favourite #ootd on Instagram.
Navy marle tee – Sussan | Black jeggings- Sussan | Striped blazer- thrift store | Nude kitten heel pumps – Rock port | Necklace – Country Road | Bag- Coach
DAY 5 : Chambray and complimentary colours- Almost every capsule wardrobe I’ve seen suggests a chambray shirt as a mandatory piece and I couldn’t agree more. I could practically live in this particular chambray shirt, have you seen my stylist’s pick post on this chambray shirt here? The use of a complimentary accessory adds the perfect burst of colour, especially for a Spring look.
Chambray shirt – Kmart | Black jeggings – Sussan | Sandals – Florsheim | Cross body bag – Coach
DAY 6: Stripes, leopard print and denim jacket- 3 things that are evergreen, ever chic and when put together are just effortlessly stylish! Day 6 was an outfit for a laid back casual Friday.
Stripe tee- Sportscraft | Khaki jegging – Uniqlo | Denim jacket – Old Navy (US) | Leopard sandals – Windsor Smith
DAY 7: Leopard on neutrals- Saturday chores outfit made fun with some leopard print and the burgundy bag added the perfect statement.
Grey tee – Grab denim via Myer | Black jegging- Sussan | Leopard scarf – Sportsgirl | Sandals – Florsheim | Cross body bag – Marcs | Necklace – Country Road
DAY 9: Black and beige with a hint of print- Monday monochrome was right on point with my all time favourite combination that has another advantage, it makes you look oh-so polished!
Layered print tank – Jeanswest | Black jegging – Sussan | Necklace – Blush & Co | Nude kitten heel pumps- Rockport | Bag – Coach
DAY 10: Pink and leopard- The pink silk tank combined with leopard pint adds a touch of smart style to this Tuesday office outfit.
