Hello wonderful readers!
Welcome to another weekly trend post. Today we are talking corporate dressing and yes it is obvious that the past week and half of dressing for work has prompted me to put together these ideas! I am constantly trying to innovate when it comes to dressing up each morning, putting my stylist’s hat on to get the ensemble right for a polished yet creative look.
Check out what inspires me and my selection of corporate classics:
1. Sarah pop over cotton shirt- Sportscraft $100 | 2. Madison small carry all in Saffiano leather –Coach $320 | 3. Squared cat eye optical glasses- Dior $335 | 4. Stretch silk shirt-Witchery $150 | 5. Stainless steel bracelet watch- Guess $120 | 6. Jacquard skirt- Sussan$80 | 7. Semi-precious stone qing necklace- Oroton $145 | 8. Angela black leather pump- Country Road $149 | 9. Elle dress- Saba $125
While a corporate look is all about polish and sharp dressing, I love to experiment beyond the grey and black palette by adding a pop of colour or a vibrant accessory. Quality block heeled pumps, a silk shirt and fabulous pencil skirt will go a long way in terms of work dressing, accompanied by a posh metal watch and glasses!
I recently watched the Bollywood movie ‘Kick’, while honestly I didn’t think much of the movie, the styling of the lead actress ‘Shaina’ remained stuck in my head and I loved her glasses and grey outfits with pops of color here and there. Another character I was inspired by here is ‘Claire’ from the ‘House of Cards’. I haven’t watched the series which I believe is pretty impressive but I loved Claire’s crisp shirts, structured dresses and her handbag even:-)
What do you think of my corporate picks? Do you also get inspired by on screen fashion?
